Experiencing intense trauma for fun would be a niche pass time for a particular group of people. Even if you developed the technology such that trauma would be treatable and its negative effects reduced to something manageable and recreational. The average biological brain is really stupid so I'd also not wager it'd be any use for training anything serious. Perhaps seeing if you can train brain organoids using BCIs that transmit information to the cells without killing them would be useful.
