Just have a good charcoal grill with a lot of space in the middle, make sure you light the charcoals beforehand and don't just throw them on with a fire and expect them to heat kuso, you need to prep them in a starter ahead of time until they're maybe half or a quarter covered in white or a more ashen color. Then you can throw them into your grill, and also have some extra hardwood lumps or similar to throw onto the coals so that it lights up for a fire. You can do it without the wood, but I learned early on that it's definitely easier to have it as it speeds up cooking by giving a lot more heat to the meat. The burgers though I'd say are just a learned thing. You make enough burgers, you know when one's ready to flip and then ready to take off.
