I wish so much of Idolmaster wasn't inaccessible to me as a non-Japanese person who doesn't have a Japanese phone (or a love for gacha)
Oh well, the fan art and occasional anime adaptation is nice.

I don't really play a lot of modern games (and by modern I mean anything after the PS1 or so) and I'm not entirely I understand Idolmaster. I have been aware of it for a really long time and recently went back to listening to classics like Do-Dai, which make me feel really good for nostalgia reasons, but it looks like the games just focus on dressing and managing the girls, kind of Sims-ish, with minimal focus on rhythm elements during some songs. Is that the core gameplay, basically for obsessing over the girls, or is there more rhythm-based gameplay and such than it looks like?
This is not to criticize the franchise at all, I'm legitimately just very new to this genre in general and only really play platformers. I'd like to get into it because of the nostalgia, but I'm not sure if it's for me.

Does anyone have the old clip of Takane moaning to a Super Mario RPG song? I once had it but lost it...
