It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Chess scenes and the general danse macabre theme was alright, but I expected something more based on how many people praised it. For instance, the witch burning scene: was it supposed to be something deeper, or just mood-setting? It made me feel illiterate, which might be the case, but I don't know where to even educate myself on the matter.

Oh, wait... you're talking about the actual movie, aren't you? I haven't seen it, it was just what came to mind after i took the screenshot to make the template for this thread. So i can't really say anything about the movie myself.

I haven't really found this to be a good way to find movies i'd enjoy. When and how you watch a movie will change the impression it can make. I usually rather watch movies i never expected i'd end up to watching. By coincidence, a sign, or for whatever reason, seems to be a better way to find experiences that i'll enjoy and remember.
