I prefer family-owned restaurants to fast food places. They have the best burgers

The best burgers are those that fill you with pleasant feelings, like the burger my uncle used to make when I was a kid and we visited him and my cousins in summer. Compared to one of those 'restaurant' burgers it wasn't as good, but it reminds me of comfort and joy. Ahh... burgers of youth and nostalgia...

Have you ever had a burger? They always get cold before you finish and the payload falls out and your hands get covered in sauce and the buns are more packaging foam than bread and the smell outstays its welcome.

We must build a better burg from first principles.
Let's start with a good steak, medium rare. Slather in arrabbiata sauce. Top with tomato slices, briefly stir fried to maintain temperature consistency. Add a sunny side up egg with scallions. Instead of bacon, add beef jerky. Replace the cheddar with a sprinkle of Parmesan. Apply sriracha sauce to taste for a little zest. Roll up the crime scene sushi roll style between two slices of whole wheat bread, drenched in butter and grilled until crispy.
Serve on a heated platter and nibble to at your own pace. Put the lettuce on the side to make it easier for the waitstaff to dispose of it.
