A bit late to be making a thread, but it's ending on January 2nd so there's still plenty of time to find stuff. Is there any really good deals kissu's found or can recommend of good games this time around?

It feels like every Steam sale is identical these days and we just had one for Thanksgiving. Half the stuff never goes above 50% off and the other half lures you in with a steep discount before showing you the bajillion DLC packs you need to also get that raise it up to 80 bucks even with all the discounts.

I fucking hate video games.

Indies do the exact same shit + try to scam you with "early-access" and patreon bullshit.

You think this, but then they come back years later and hit you with a DLC and laugh at you for paying to be a beta tester. Game devs are nefarious creatures, you can never lower your guard around them.

Yeah but how is https://store.steampowered.com/app/2719060/Mirage_Feathers/ going to screw me over? It's $4. Your fault for playing overpriced games.

Here's a nice sale, 20 hour really intricate Metroidvania for only $3. Play it.

I don't know if I can do a Metroidvania with a 200ish pixel resolution. Graphics aren't a huge deal to me, but everything being square is just kind of strange to me in an exploration genre.

So were there any good sales?

Etrian Odyssey collection was a pretty good deal imo. Would have bought it if I hadn't already played the original games on DS. I'll probably get them next time they go on sale.

Aren't they pretty low quality ports? I don't see any reason not to play on DS.

 No.2974

>>2965
From what I've seen they're not low quality, just pretty barebones, or I suppose if you want to be more generous you could say they're faithful to the originals. What they have over DS is several bug fixes and subtle QoL changes, at the cost of worse mapping since these games were made for dual screens. For me personally, if I wanted to replay them I'd go with the HD remasters and turn on full automapping. The QoL features are a pretty big deal as far as I'm concerned, especially EO3 features backported to 1 and 2 like autopilot and separate inventory tab for key items.

I thought they also used a really bad font in it, but I guess they could have fixed that by now. For 1 and 2 it's a weird area where they're not totally faithful to the originals, but also not as upgraded as the 3DS remakes from 10 years ago. I just can't see a situation where I'd want the middle ground here.
