Finally feels like Spring has come. The forecast shows that the daily high for the next 10 days will be around 60 to 70 F (15~20C)

I also live in an area where it's comfortable during spring. Alas, I am also filled with anxiety because the season after it is pure misery.
But, for now, it's pretty and it's relaxing and I wish I could move my computer outside (and find some shade)

Had to turn my AC on because it was too hot. Hate spring. It's like summer but with bipolar disorder.

nice. I'm freezing in my house with no electricity and parents who are brain locked between being submissive to public infrastructure repair efforts and making innefective means to heat a house.

well what you can do if you don't want that is to get water boiling while having the window open and then take the lid off after turning off the stove and closing the window
you'll have a bunch of steam in there but that's a good thing

When we lost power in our house (posted elsewhere) we made use of the water heater which used gas instead of electricity. The bathroom was essentially turned into an on-demand sauna by running the shower for a little bit. Pretty nice

It's fortunate to live in a place with gas isn't it?
I lived in a place before where the stoves were electric, heaters were electric, and even hot water came from the municipal heating plant that got cold after 15 minutes of shower

I guess so, but I never really pay much attention to it. I think I'd prefer electric stuff, except for these bad scenarios where the power is out for a sustained period

Iunno, my water heater is pretty shoddy. Here it is, after a gust of wind turned it off earlier today, I'm about to turn it back on.
The instructions say you have to hold down the left side of the middle thingy for 20 secs before selecting a heat setting but it often resets anyways and requires multiple tries. The stove isn't in great shape either, though it's not as finicky.
Do not envy those 15m showers though, that sounds awful. I'm very slow when it comes to those.
