That style is from the games around the 00s era, isn't it? Ken Sugimori.

A Guide to Ethically Training Your Pokémon:
- There has been a trend of trainers force-feeding their Pokémon water to get them to fight longer. This is atrocious! Do not do this!
- When possible, catch your Pokémon with Luxury Balls.
- Do not use starter Pokémon! These Pokémon have been bred in facilities much like puppy mills, for young and inexperienced trainers that think they're too good for a Rattata or Hoothoot.
- Do not use Repels! Instead, slowly walk through the tall grass to avoid encounters, or even avoid the grass altogether.
- Avoid littering. Sell your items at your local PokéMart.
- Do not buy Pokémon! Much like starter Pokémon, the Abra or Dratini you won at the Game Corner has probably been illegally caught or worse, bred under squalid conditions.
- Do not force your Pokémon to fight if they are not at least at half health.
- Always give your opponent the option to surrender. This will lead to fewer fainted Pokémon.
- Do not use moves that harm your Pokémon. Self-Destruct, Belly Drum, Double-Edge, and Perish Song are all moves that put victory before the well-being of your Pokémon friends.
- Do not wake your Pokémon up with items. Rather, get into a battle with a weak wild Pokémon, and wait patiently for a few turns to get your Pokémon to wake up naturally. Then, run away.
- Do not train your Pokémon by fighting wild Pokémon! These wild Pokémon are simply bothered by your presence, and they do not deserve to get knocked out because of it. If trainers forcing you to battle isn't enough, you can leave your Pokémon at the local day care and go for a jog.
- Let your Pokémon rest on Sundays.

>>36858>- Do not force your Pokémon to fight if they are not at least at half health.Since all of these are handicaps, I initially read this as meaning that it had to have
lost at least half of its health to fight and was confused by its seeming sadism.
