It's fine if people want to discuss other sites and stuff because it is a meta thread and I can't really take much a side, but keep unrelated religious discussion elsewhere.

I'm not a religious guy, but I do admire some tenants of certain aspects of it. The ritual of imitating Christ by washing the feet of the downtrodden as an act of humility and compassion is really a beautiful thing.
The Christ part of Christianity doesn't seem too popular these days.

But he has done nothing bad. He served his term with humility, grace and compassion, he truly was a living example of the very teachings of Jesus Christ. However you may feel about the Christian faith, the pope fulfilled his role well.
If you are a pr*testant, don't bother replying. You don't care for Jesus and his teachings, you just want to wield them as a bludgeon, like the cruel church officials and evil popes that sparked the protestant schism in the first place.

 No.37174

>>37154
Protestants are overwhelmingly relaxed people and I don't know a single protestant who despite not being catholics didn't love Pope Frans for being an overall decent person who cared for others, it's the American evangelicals who want to use christianity as an excuse for un-christian atrocities that think he's bad.

I think an important factor in the refugee thread soaking up so damn much of the activity is that kissu's structure deviates strongly from most other imageboards. It's not "here's the topic boards, and here's a random board." Rather, the two main boards are both random, but they're differentiated in their seriousness (with a good deal of ramifications), and many new users seem to have been confused by this. They've asked whether it's permissible to create this or that thread, to make a general, or if a board could be made to house them, regardless of the level of activity of the specific topic they want to partake in. There's a desire for pre-approval.

Merely being able to tell where they should make a thread requires them to lurk, but posting a thread that already has hundreds or thousands of posts is trivially easy. It's already there. I don't know if there's any specific lesson to be taken from this, because the site isn't going to be restructured based on it, and we can't exactly lay out a full explanation of the exact culture on the spot, and even if we could and it'd 100% solve the problem telling them to read it would be cumbersome and present more complications. It's an interesting situation, and I'd like to know what others think.

It's certainly different to have threads on /jp/ that routinely get bumped with new pics instead of lasting for a day and people forgetting about it.
I think some of them would benefit from being moved to /ec/, particularly the boobhu one so people could just dump nudity if they wanted. Due to /jp/'s speed if someone has a favorite 2hu their thread could die after a week if /jp/'s speed remains at current levels. They may feel the need to bump it often which is something else that /ec/ would relieve if it's more of an image dump thread instead of discussion.
As it is /ec/ is generally underutilized (less so lately) and this could be a great way to breathe more life into it while freeing /jp/ up to be more spontaneous. The scoring system thing is pretty cool, too, and /jp/ refugees may like it.

>The hard part about the seasonal stuff is if you haven't seen it you don't have anything to add to the conversation, nor do you get the inside jokes like 75 MP and the like.

That's fair, although we don't have too many of that. You already know the whole joke, a girl saying she has 75MP. About 3 people watched the show here and I never finished it. If you have any questions about kissu culture/references feel free to ask in >>>/b/12942 so it's a bit more visisble!

Interesting point, I can see how it differs from a single general in /vg/ in that sense, yes. The community is spread out throughout several standardized receptacles at a time rather than a single one. Nonetheless, it is a different mode of being from what kissu/jp/ is accustomed to.
>easy enough to batch related up stuff
On the contrary! If you want to make a new thread, make it. If you don't want to, you probably still should. I think it keeps things more accessible and has more potential for other people to jump in.
>jokes like 75 MP and the like
Oh, that one's poking fun at the meaninglessness of random numbers in narou-kei. You didn't have to watch the anime, you had to read the thread. It's true that watching stuff as it comes out helps better understand what's being posted about, but if you see a thread and think of a related funpost to make in it feel free to go ahead and make it. Threads like >>>/jp/92453 and >>>/jp/92384 don't even require you to know the context, they're using it as a springboard for something else. (>>>/jp/92386 is a good example of 2hu outside of 2hu threads.)
>It's a shame I didn't watch more before now, Apocalypse Hotel had my interest and it was the first time I've watched a full episode of Gundam since distant childhood.
That's great to hear. I'm also looking forward to playing more with you guys.

It was supposed to be a temporary thing when Utawarerumono season 3 aired, but it stuck around because admin was busy and I don't have a way to change board subtitles. It's kind of just here now and occasionally I'll bring back the Kuon CSS theme and the rule where every post must mention Kuon or risk a short ban.
