The internet got old enough that it started to become introspective. Meta discussion about the web was extremely niche until the mid-2010s, when it overtook everything.>>94545>individualism has also increased and makes for worse and less products to enjoy.
If you're talking about the web, I strongly disagree. The transition from highly-customizable blogging services like LiveJournal and Blogspot to largely inert social media "platforms" like Twitter and YouTube has greatly homogenized internet culture. Or, to put it differently, I wouldn't call a world where the only acceptable memes are cancerman, doge, and one or two FOTMs to be "individualist".>but what changed most is probably the attitude or the "zeitgeist", which went from a rather positive, "laugh-it-off" mindset to "wow everything sucks, nothing matters and i am a victim of the world".
He said, writing a giant post whining about how everything sucks and none of it is his fault.
