Seeing the display of magical power recently in this anime has me wondering how the topic of magic itself will be addressed as Myne ages and learns to wield it more efficiently. The anime thus far has gone to great lengths to avoid becoming a magic battle shounen so I don't see it becoming the norm, but it most certainly has to be addressed given how powerful of a tool it has proven to be. However, I think that as long as it doesn't lose sight of making slow progress towards mass literacy and somewhat modern printing I'll enjoy the ride it takes me along, since the strength of the characters still has yet to waiver.

Those are my thoughts on Honzuki so far, what does kissu think? Are you guys enjoying it?

The MAIN character is still as cute as ever, but I'm waiting to see what happens, as a lot of new plot elements are being introduced. Evil merchants and nobles, Myne being married off away from her family before attending school, the servants not being able to learn how to read and write from Myne, and how Damuel and Sylvester will contribute to the story.

I've enjoyed every season so far (don't have any interest in reading the LN/manga/etc) and it hasn't really lowered in quality at all. I do wish there was still more focus on invention instead of political stuff with the church, but I do love the merchant guy. The ink mafia thing made sense and maybe it's even historical, but I also found it hilarious.
Also Tuuli is really great, obviously.
Uhh... what else... the short skits at the end of the show are really nice.

I really, really enjoy it. From not having watched it, I binged the entirety of the previous seasons prior to the seasonal stream having it. I found it really fun. It being missing from the stream this weekend was a sore sight for me...

Supposing there are enough seasons to get to the point where magic would be involved, I think we probably won't see magic get involved until Myne turns 10 and gets to go off to noble school, since they mentioned earlier in the series that Myne would only be able to read magic books if she had attended and graduated. Considering it's taken about a seasons for each year, just about, and Myne is turning 8 in the current season, it's probably not going to be for a long while before we see anything like that pop up in the show.

They showed Gil and Delia learning how to write on chalk boards a few episodes earlier, and I'm pretty sure there was a scene about Myne teaching the orphans how to read by giving out wooden cards that had letters on them for learning their alphabet.

I'm worried that Myne will be forced to disappear into adoption sooner rather than later with the recent noble aggression towards her. It seems like it's getting harder and harder to protect her family while at the same time drawing ire for her outstanding achievements. If that happens I'll really miss Tuuli.
