Do you ever learn a language to read porn in it?

 No.83005

No.

 No.83006

Yes.

 No.83007

Mayhaps.

the pig men never speak latin, so no.

If it were somehow a choice between two languages, one for who makes good video games and TV and who makes good porn I'd choose the video game/TV one.
They're both Japanese in this case, but I'm not going to learn it

I can vaguely read hiragana and katakana and vaguely understand some words and phrases, but as far as actually bothering to learn, no.

Might I reccomend OCR and Yomichan then also learning how to write kanji and just writing down everything and its meaning you don't understand until you do? It's actually probably the most effective method to learning Japanese there is (words&kanji at least) if you can get past the extreme annoyance factor of studying with your penis in hand.

Shimakaze makes me angry to look at.

>Might I reccomend OCR and... then also learning how to write kanji and just writing down everything and its meaning you don't understand until you do?
I already do this a bit, but not very intentionally. Usually, I try reading something by writing the characters into Google Translate and then looking up the definitions and translations into a more competent translator or dictionary. I don't do it frequently enough to have memorized many characters or meanings, let alone know the proper stroke order. That said, I think I might coincidentally write them in the stroke proper order from time to time given they seem to mostly be written in a similar fashion from left to right, top to bottom, while taking the radicals into account. Yomichan seems pretty neat for web browsing, although I don't frequent Japanese language websites very often so I'm not sure how useful I'll find it.

Gave up after feeling overwhelmed by kanji and vocab after learning kana.

姦,姪,娼,妹 and so many others, learning words by images helps greatly.

This seems like a lot of work just to read porn. Would it really be that much more difficult to learn the little Japanese needed to read it natively?

I love brown lolis.

Well the idea is that you just do that alot and since h-manga usually uses the same terms alot you eventually get the hang of it and are able to read most of it just fine, and can just OCR a few times per. I don't need to actually do that each and every time I try to read something, what I posted was just an example of how it works.

Oh! What's that exactly? I certainly don't see any options for that in Yomichan?... I found a different OCR addon (one that's not a piece of junk like the others I tried!), but it's a bit cumbersome to look at.

it's shareX, with a keybind for copying japanese text through ocr, and the site texthooker.com with the toggle clipboard inserter addon
easy to set up and trivial to use, though it can be wonky

Wishing I focused more on Spanish lately, but I'm scared I'll lose what progress I made on Japanese over a decade and some change now.
