I realized I'm turning into a fat ass. What are some good ways to slim down?

I don't exercise because it usually involves being around people and that's too normal for me.

>>137459
I don't really eat a lot but I guess my portions could be smaller. I eat twice a day but usually one meal is fast food slop because I'm too lazy to cook.

you can do the stuff from this book in a prison cell

 No.137474

the answer is unfortunately to eat less, so you will just need to set a strict caloric limit (ideally per-meal, but shit happens, so you should just add up the meal limits and make sure you keep to that per-day limit) and hard stick to it for a few months
the hardest part is the start, your body will eventually expect less food

exercising alone without caloric restriction will generally get you to eat more to compensate (ruining your efforts), although you probably should still try and get even like 10 minutes or so more exercise than you currently do each day

shit sucks ass and I need to slim down a bit and given that everything seems better in my life with more food in me, I cannot be arsed again

Looking through sample text and already bored. Why does he fill the pages with long boring stories nobody cares about? Why can't he just get straight to it? Just tell me what to do every single day for 6 months and be done with it. I'm not reading any more.

Right now my only plan is to eat smaller portions and drink water whenever I feel hungry. I'm not sure what I'll eat though because I fucking hate cooking. It'll have to be something cheap that can be spread out throughout the week.

The only way to lose weight is through eating less, or becoming more active and eating the same amount. Exercise improves your health, but it shouldn't be seen as something to lose weight; walking and running burns roughly the same amount of calories. Likewise, diets are mostly just fads, not something that will necessarily help you lose weight if you're not also eating less. What diets do do, however, is help enforce portion control and build habits for eating at regular times throughout the day. If you're snacking instead of eating meals, you'll tend to overeat because you never feel full.

set a goal, keep track of your progress toward it, get mad at yourself when you aren't on target. you already know how to lose weight, what you're really stuck on is why you should care.

tea can also tide you over.

Saying "eat less" isn't exactly accurate. It's eating fewer calories. 100 calories of ice cream and 100 calories of grilled chicken are very different in size and satiety.
Building muscle is good because it burns calories just by existing, but you need to maintain it by doing exercises every week. If you drink something other than water that's usually the easiest way to cut calories, although I can't imagine living without milk.

walk more, walk everyday and consistently. make it into a habit, its best to add fasting or reducing food intake into the mix but for now, focus on just walking

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/can-you-lose-weight-by-walking-an-hour-a-day#calories-burned

by just walking your tricking
yourself by not thinking of it as exercise, make it into a fun little journey by planning your walks around your local landmarks and parks, etc.

and of course! please be patient as results won´t come instantly

TLDR; focus walking consistently everyday,
fasting or a caloric deficit can aid you significantly

Would recommend walking/running like >>137570 says. Far from the best calorie-burner, but it's an ez routine that doesn't require more than a decent pair of shoes. Even just a few blocks around your neighborhood is better than no cardio.
Treadmill is a good investment for hikkiNEET fitness if you really hate doing it outside.

 No.137581

Take multivitamin supplements and only eat food with low carbs and high protein. Lifting and doing squats is much better than walking because you can do it while watching TV. Machines like treadmills make too much noise so you can't hear the loli noises coming from the TV clearly enough.

How do I motivate myself to work out when my weight is already fine from just diet? I know I should for my longterm health but that's such a general goal that I have no impetus to start.

Easiest way is to do it with other people. If it's a social appointment then it's much harder to skip. Sports work great for this, but just having a buddy to walk with helps a lot. If you're a friendless loser, you can substitute a dog for your walks.

Here's how it went for me (back when I used to workout):
¥started forcing myself to do even just pushups and situps daily
¥started with 10-10-10 sets of each, gradually increased the numbers
¥noticed visible changes on my appearance; felt good, wanted to keep it up
¥went for pushup progressions (diamond pushups etc)
¥bought secondhand weights for other heavy lifting stuff
¥couldn't skip a single day because it'd make what I'd done till now meaning less
Haven't been doing anything for the past year though, too busy with life....

i can somewhat attest to this
walked for 3-6 hours daily for a couple weeks (some of it more like hiking) and suddenly lost two kilos, when I hadn't been able to lose any noticeable amount of weight with running ~40 mins and working out in the previous months

I used to walk everyday between four and six AM but then some house owners, whose driveways are virtually inseparable from the public pathways where I walked, decided to install an alarm system.
