You know, one of the most popular things in the AD threads was to speculate on what the girls would do in life, but it just hit me Osaka would totally be the "housewife" who just NEETs it up and consumes media or video games all day. She has OSRS written all over her

I stream my art and vidya sometimes

My feelings about streaming, or content creation in general really, are weird and contradictory to each other. I've been doing general media editing in private for around 2 decades and I really like the thought of incorporating everything into some sort of public outlet for my creativity, combining it with other hobbies for what would essentially be PVs and glorified Let's Plays in a traditional TV program format. Ideally I'd also be able to make neet money with this.
The thing is, even though I like the process, I don't like what it becomes. I like creating and showcasing things, but I don't like being anything more than just Anonymous. I like people enjoying and possibly even being entertained by what I do, but I don't like communities and community interactions that aren't Anon. I like the things I like and do, but I don't like the vast majority of people who would be my audience. I like making money with what I enjoy, but I don't like ads or the modern commercialized internet.
It might be a stupid thing to be upset about, but I don't like the fact that, if I wanted to capitalize on what I like and learned, I would essentially betray Anon.

You could consider an artisan to be the middle ground between an artist and a craftsman.

>>6675You could always stream it without a mic and just respond in chat to questions/criticisms. No mic would give slightly more anonymity by not giving anyone a voice to attribute to you, although you would still likely have a username, as would any potential viewers...
From what I've seen, no mic streams wouldn't really be bringing in money. I don't have an issue with making money off of something I enjoy, but I do take issue with how a lot of people go about it in places like Twitch. I've clicked on streams to immediately get blasted with ads, and I just instantly click off the stream, or if I can actually watch the stream, then the broadcaster is just reading off a list of names that threw money at them/loud obnoxious donation alert spam.

>>6676I would agree no matter how amateurish you are. Artisan = high quality is marketing. Can be true, but if you practice a craft with the intention of producing small batches or individual goods by hand you fall in by default. Most professional artisans started off as a hobbyist with poor skills in my industry, gotta start from something.

>>6678Thank you! I think I could actually make do with using a mic, what I meant was more related to Anon as a concept. Say, you know how potentially good OC can immediately lose all of its appeal when it's tied to a namefag? Or how certain good thoughts feel more valuable when they came from a kakoii mystery Anon you absolutely can't make out otherwise and may never see again. As schizo as that sounds, I wish I could retain that special quality as a creator. That's one of the reasons for why I would only go for uploaded content instead of streaming, then either disable comment interaction or moderate it in a style similar to here, trying to keep a certain culture.
I completely agree about the ads! I don't watch streamers, but if I did, even just donation announcements would completely kill my interest. I feel the nicest way would be to just have a private donation link that people can easily find on their own. For YT I think it's fine to use ads, since they're trivial to block and you can remind your audience to use an adblocker if they don't already use one!
