Replying to this thread just to say how repulsive OP's pic is. The dull colors which make the characters look like corpses, the kuso "soles facing pov, feet taking up 50% of the space" composition which footfaggot artists love for some reason, the weird fucking overly detailed feet with just enough shading to place emphasis on the wrinkles (which footniggers also love to draw for some godforsaken reason) but not enough to show the curvature of the arches, etc etc. I don't understand why foot fetish artists continually churn out art like this and not look at it once and think "this is ugly as shit and I can do better".

I've been wondering... would you rather be a cute robot being taken care of, or the human caretaker of said robot?
Like, imagine a future where people can live forever (where new humans are only born to replace a person if they die from an accident), and autonomous robots are offered as an alternative to humans who want to experience living like a family, which one would you rather be?

As the human, you'd never age and have the freedom and responsibilities that comes with being an adult. And you'd get to take care of cute robot like a parent raising a child. You get to help and watch them grow and become more independent, take them on trips and experience new things and so on (but if you mismanage the robot, it'll be taken away). They won't actually grow up though (since they're just a robot), it's just for the experience of being a family.
As the robot, you'll be autonomous and can think and stuff, but you'll have to follow your human caretaker's instructions. But as long as you don't break them (or any other laws), you'll mostly get to do whatever you want with your free time, and get to experience life from the eyes of a cute innocent robot. If you earn the trust and freedom from your human caretakers you'll also get to choose how to dress and look and such as well (other than like the head-bulbs and choker that shows you're a robot) and go on trips to the store on your own, if you want.

Most of these conditions i added because i wanted to make it more of a difficult/realistic choice, with pros and cons on both sides. Like, i think i can guess what most would pick if i asked "Would you want to become a cute robot girl and do whatever you want", heh...
Also, if you want something cute that would love you and be with you forever without much change, that sounds more like a robot pet or something.

I haven't thought that much about the details, but yeah it should be some kind of reporting back in case of mistreatment and such! It's something provided to experience a family, not something you can just do whatever with. Oh also! Some kind of check similar to people who want to adopt, to make sure they're good people.

The reason I wanted to abstract your use of the word neutral into the realm of morality (value systems) is that "effects" being positive or negative can only be estimated by some outsider perspective and metric. It is and means nothing when something happens because of cause and effect. I am confused at how you transition from thinking it is indifferent and then claim it can provide anything from no basis of belief. I don't understand what the difference between overthinking and psychopathy is. There is no neutrality in either. Perhaps what you're saying is that it gives only raw material to both. The moment it transitions into either overthinking or psychopathy is the moment it can be judged from a value system, and whether it is neutral can be found then.

You're right, I'm judging it as incorrect because it brings unnecessary suffering to the mind that could be avoided through re-contextualizing the issue. The main problem is that this idea makes no sense, there is no possible way of escaping value systems. I mean that literally, although barring just no longer existing as a sentient, sapient, cognitively aware being, to be reduced to something below even existence. I don't mean to comment on anything else, this in specific is central to why I first replied: there's no neutrality anywhere.

Genuinely, thank you for explaining most of this. This is the kind of stuff I want to know more of, especially the history (since I am admittedly kinda dumb when it comes to pure coding sometimes so history is closer to my forte, I am trying to improve, but I can't call myself good for the time being). It gives me added context and lets me understand how to navigate the landscape, even if what you're saying sounds pretty grim. I will admit I don't understand all of it, but I am hoping in time I will once I get more acquainted with Linux and even open-source systems as a whole.
Also admittedly yeah, I figured GNOME was bad, I kinda tried it out for a bit on my system and admittedly...I wasn't fond of it, which is why I switched to TDE, I found it more comfortable. KDE felt bloated and GNOME just felt off for me.

i use x-lite, which is a stripped down windows 10/11 'fork'.
If you combine a good firewall with any version of Windows though, like SimpleWall, then you can block out all telemetry. Just only allow firefox.exe and other processes to access the internet and windows itself can never phone home.
