Maybe I should look into one of these since my sister needs a TV...

It's kinda pricey at ~1000for the 2024 model. I'm hoping by the week of the 29th it goes under or there's some deals on older models. I think it's supposed to be wall mounted but all the pictures have stands.

why get a 55" TV with the dumbest gimmick ever conceived for $1k when you could get a 75" TV without the gimmick for $400?

For anything over 1k I'd sure as hell not be paying for just 'nice'. Kinda have the same mind as >>1986 if the case for it is just the frame design unless there's some unmatched visual quality attached to that.

Even then feel like 1k+ is a hard sell unless I'm swimming in money at the moment.

any decent studio monitors are better than tv builtin speakers

Speakers on LCDs suck. They're always down-firing and lack any depth because there's no room for the sound. Even a cheap stereo soundbar will sound better.

get the 75 incher for $400 and you can have $600 spare for audio, which you probably won't even need all of for good quality speakers.

Thinking on it a bit more I might not care for a TV at this time and I'd get more out of a sound system

Says it over drives it(280W) at the given impedence so should work. Buying special audio equipment is weird

I got a standard 55Inch TV for 300$ and have been fighting with sound systems.

My sound system stuff has been.... interesting... I've been trying many ways to get a 5.1 audio setup using a computer with a very avant-garde motherboard and a bunch of hacks.

So I'll wind up having 4 RM-40s which are OK but not very good at vocal clarity for home theatre.
I inheritted a Bose CD player which I hooked up to the headphone output of the TV... it has very good full range sound. But the RM40s are better with midlows and highs. So I'll blend them together.

I'll buy an 'FX 5.1 Sound Card SB1570' https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00EO6X4XG/ref=ewc_pr_img_2?smid=A31KR0810C9C89&psc=1 which should handle the sound better than the onboard card. Then I'll place speakers as such
