7. Her show is amazing and I couldn't stop smiling through all of it. Buddy Daddies is so good.
Yeah, it has serious stuff like Spy X Family and gets violent as you can see in this clip, but it's not very serious at the same time
>>47721Ohh, it does! It did look kinda familiar to me
No.47724
>>47723Oh, I should mention that it's not all silly cartoon violence like that. People do get murdered with pools of blood and so on.
I'm not sure why mixing genres like this is a thing, but I guess it helps set it apart.

not a fan of this show even though I did somewhat enjoy the first episode
mostly its because I hate pa works and feel the show will drop off within an episode or two, but to me it feels too much like cashing in on recent trends
it feels like they took spy family and smashed it together with the yakuza baby sitter show, I also find it bizarre that they had the blonde guy clearly like women. Its like they dont even know the target audience for a show about two ikemen acting as parents of a child. The two guys even feel like generic yaoi characters and yet they cant even commit.
I dont think I will watch more

>>48281Hmm, I can't say I understand someone that says they like the first episode and then drops it because they think episodes they haven't watched are bad. It's a good show and as I said earlier they did the maid wars show right before this so it's not exactly new territory.
There's three episodes now that you can watch, but 2 and 3 are far more heavily focused on them taking care of Miri than the assassination stuff and it's quite happy and cheerful, but there's definitely dark stuff in it, darker than Spy X Family. Like in episode 3 there was a scene with
a dead dog with a bullet hole in its head
No.48291
>>48285I dont like yaoi, but as I do like yuri I am just confounded by how strange of a decision it is to have a character in a clearly yaoibait show have that much interest in women. The has a (usually self insert for female watcher) ex-girlfriend that ends up being a background character as the ship progresses does exist, but from what I saw they are having the guys character be tied up in a past het relationship. It's like if I was watching yuru yuri and Yui kept mentioning how she was sad her boyfriend broke up with her.
>>48284this is like the most retarded, surface-level criticism of a post i have ever read in my life
and I do mean that, almost every single pa works show in recent history has had the issue of strong start with the meat of the show being mediocre at best and not playing to the shows strengths, I am not getting invested into something that has a good chance of feeling like a chore to watch week to week.
>>48288 mentions this show being definitely darker than spy family, but that is why I mentioned yakuza baby sitter (which had a very similar juxtaposition of mc being nice to child while being involved in a violent business, though with that one it didnt feel like a switch from nice to violent and instead had the character grow through learning to be nice) he also mentions the maid show, which is the main reason why I feel very unenthusiastic about this one. this just feels like pa works leaning into the violent shock value angle while picking up elements from other shows in a currently popular genre.
if you have any actual counterpoints I would love to hear them

>>48293you would have to be an idiot to watch this show and not assume there are no elements of yaoi, I mean seriously two young adult guys taking care of a child together and acting like a family and you dont there is even a hint of yaoi to it????? their personalities even fit the classic pairing type that is present in a million other popular yaoi pairings
No.48296
>>48294It's a show about how having to defend something makes you into a moral humble person. Your gay brain thinks this is a boy love romance when there hasn't been a single scene pointing out any sort of romantic feelings between the two.

No.48300
>>48291Well, if you're a strong yuri fan then I think you might be biased when it comes to interpreting friendships in fiction. Two male friends awkwardly raising a child isn't really a new genre and it was done a bunch in TV shows and movies over here and I imagine it's not an alien concept in Japan either. They could specifically aim for the fujos, or cast a wider net and try to more people into it (which has worked on me). It's not like they need to be blatantly gay or anything to inspire art or anything like that, just exist in the same show.
I think good, strong male friendships is such a rarity in media that it I'd love for this to do it well. I don't think anything like that would happen, just a focus on Miri.
No.48302
>>48300I will admit that I am biased, but I also want to say that my criticism on the yaoi aspect is really just a passing thought and not part of the main reason I dont think highly of the show.
its quiet annoying when you make an actual argument and then people latch on to the weakest and least important part to attack while ignoring every single other aspect.
