Uhh... hmm... practice? I don't think artists are supposed to specifically train with a style in mind as it's something that's supposed to build over time. A proper "anime" artist still needs the fundamentals, even if the eventual finished product isn't entirely human when it comes to the head.

Copy existing drawings over and over to practice different shapes. It's not stealing, it's practice.

A ton of mangaka have done nothing but draw manga. Not all of them are great at drawing, but their drawings are cute enough and they write good stories so people are happy.
