It's one of the first animes I downloaded when I got internet at home for the first time and releases were more or less 170mb per episode. Seems like that fansubber from 20 years made quite a few translation mistakes, because several jokes make sense now.
The new version is not a great improvement, but sigh. the joys of early digital anime.

Makes some points about the weaknesses of a lot of the literary merits about the films, has a lot of insider knowledge of the staff that make up the different roles played at Ghibli that play to different films strengths, but doesn't tread the line between criticism and cloud yelling well enough to not get overwhelmed by bitter old man stink. Was funny to read him seethe about a time his daughter pestered to get him to get a cel from a Miyazaki movie over anything he did though, I'll eventually pick it back up
