>only Reimu and Marisa playable
Lazy old fuck.
No.4165
>>4164You call it lazy, I call it classic. I think it's nice to be back to just Reimu and Marisa for protagonists.
No.4166
>>4165I see. We should also go back to not seeing your hitbox when you focus. That'd make it even more classic.

>>4170imperishable night was so big a powerspike, ZUN had to nerf it
No.4177
>>4176Dunno but I'm gonna buy it at comiket to find out
No.4179
>>4166We need to return to 16-bit graphics as well or we'll never see Mima back at this rate
No.4182
is there ever a time when ZUN intends to put safespots in his games? there are cases in which safespots feel like a gamble, like Cirno's first non spell in EoSD, but soemtimes the safespots are so easy to use in comparison to normal dodging that it feels like it was intentional, like the very last fairy of IN Extra
No.4183
>>4182I'm not sure, he's aware of obvious ones since there are anti-safespot measures:
https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Anti-Safespot_Defensive_Behavior. Cirno's Icicle Fall is pretty notorious for that thanks to IOSYS, but on normal and above if you try to hug up right in her face she pops out some yellow danmaku to back you off. But for things like "stand in this specific spot to dodge everything" I think many of them are just things that slip through the cracks. The video here is only possible because Border team has the smallest hitboxes.

>>4167>Great Beauty/GlorySakuya confirmed
>>4182>>4183I have this mental
illness barrier where I try to force myself through the stupidest paths possible in an attempt to not accidentally abuse a potential oversight, probably completely unnecessarily in most cases.
No.4186
>>4167The "錦上" in the title is apparently a phrase of it's own, meaning "crowning beaty with greater glory". It's some kind of a cultural reference and it's also referenced in Fate. But I haven't been able to figure out what it means or where it's from. English has nothing. Searching for the kanji yields unrelated Chinese stuff. Truly a mystery.
No.4188
>>4183isn't that Yuyuko's final in PCB? Reimu also has a hitboxadvantage in that game, is there a safespot there too?
No.4189
does /qa/ like challenge runs like No Bomb and No Focus?
No.4191
>>4189No because I'm a Normal/Hard scrub who's not good enough to do that.
Actually, now that I think of it, I do have an EoSD NB 1cc on Normal. That was pretty fun.
No.4192
>>4190i know that's IN, i'm asking if the safespot works in PCB because Yuyuko's final in that game looks very similar if not identical to the IN version
No.4193
>>4192Sorry, misread what you meant.
Yes it's possible, on easy modo. The problem comes with the slight variations to the spell card that makes higher difficulties only theoretically possible. The angles of bullets aren't totally static and Yuyuko herself moves a touch left and right which changes the origin point of the pattern.
No.4194
>>4189I'd rather do score runs or try lunatic 1ccs.
No.4195
>>4193oh, so it's not consistent enough to be worth it, and only possible on one difficulty setting. i see
No.4197
>>4196I've only done full score runs of MoF and UFO so far. The scores aren't very impressive but I find it more fun to engage with the scoring system than doing self imposed challenges.
No.4198
>>4197>UFOSo, are you good enough to get past Rensenware?
No.4199
>>4198Probably, yeah. Rensenware's score requirements aren't really that high.
The only ones who couldn't pass it are people that have never touched a shmup before.
