I really need to catch up on the 2hu manga. I'm several chapters behind on Whaletits and I haven't even started on the Satori one yet, although that one turned into a battle shounen with the new author I've heard.

It did and honestly it was pretty cool, they're not Dragon Ball or Jojo tier but the fights are pretty fun
A lot of the RAGE it got was just because we were catching it live so we'd have to wait a month between chapters to see the story progress. I think reading it in one straight shot might mitigate alot of the issues. Though more pressing matters like the story obviously changing from a Mystery to a Battle Manga with the author change resulting in the story feeling a bit messy in the interim are still a problem.

You're not missing out a lot on Whaletits, it's very much the "Nothing ever happens" manga, sprinkled with moments of "punching down on Reimu". But I like it because I've accepted that even if ZUN pulls out an awesome idea like "the Scion of Yamata-no-Orochi is in Gensokyo and rapidly growing" nothing major comes of that and we just move on to the next cool idea. So I just appreciate the character moments, the art and Miyoi's Geidontits
The punching down on Reimu moments do infuriate me though... because in any other story you'd expect some retaliation or karma but it never happens.
However some people are theorizing the whole manga is leading up to that karmic retribution with ZUN introducing a possible plotline with Miko hunting down the Youkai of Geidontei but that could have just been another "Nothing ever Happens" arc ending...

This new Satori arc is shaping to be more Mystery oriented again at least. So far there's been far more Satori screentime than any other character, something everyone has been wanting for a while.

I probably could attempt a fast and dirty spanish to english translation, but it's guaranteed to be a disaster since I'm missing most of the Touhou context and I have never read that manga. I like the games, but I'm not invested in lore and story.

I'm not sure if the CDS translator is just super cracked considering he gets these transations up faster than the LE teams even when he detours to translate yurishit first or if the LE translation team is just super slow

IIRC it's a bit of both. I recall seeing complaints about the LE team's speed and DB scans is devoted to 2hu and on top of their monthlies. As long as they get translated well enough I dont have any complaints.
