>>12263Yeah, I can tell it's trying to be like Overlord, whether its intended or not. But this show doesn't make me feel the awe, or the excitement I felt when seeing Ainz's display of power.
The revenge on Garou felt very lack luster and boring. It dragged on for too long. I guess unlike Ainz, Light wants Garou to feel the despair, the regret, everything, so it makes sense he'd want to drag it as long as he wants, but even then the scene wasn't very thought out.
For one it painted Garou as an absolute dumb fuck when he should be at least more than that. He knew Mei was leagues ahead of him, but as soon as Light appears he forgets about Mei. He should have better instincts than that. We
know he's better than that, that's how the anime explains how he got to the top. Knowing when a situation is good vs bad.
Then there was the scene where he showed Garou the power he rules. There is no awe for the viewer in seeing a low class villain lose his marbles to that. He should have no marbles to lose after what happened prior.
And why does Light think Garou's word for whether he can conquer the world has any weight behind it.
You
could chalk this up to light just being a kid but ehh..
Still, this show is airing and there's no signs of a new Overlord season, so I'll be watching it.
