GOD I LOVE this baka.
Could watch a whole anime of just Nazuna's walks rounds.
The girls are cute, the art is nice, the story is just enough chuuni. This show is looking to be a staple of this season.

I know I've seen this face and heard that voice somewhere before but can't quite get it... Driving me nuts.

At first I was confused I'd missed an episode when I started the second episode, but I don't dislike such story telling. Instead of spelling it all out, you let the viewer make a guess as to what happened between the previous episode and this one.
Though, I still don't know where the city is located. The way they talk about "surface world" vs "abyss", I'd venture to guess its inside the dungeon? But then where did all those people come from? Did he summon a whole city inside the dungeon?

After watching episode 3, I can't decide if the story is an intentional parody of Overlord or not.

It's not an isekai, the MC exists in the world already.
Instead of being a "hardcore" mmo, the mechanics of the "game" are a "casual" gacha.
The NPCs aren't characters with any real agency behind them, they are literally just NPCs that exist to be unconditionally loyal to the MC.
Instead of leading an organization of demi-humans supremacists, the MC leads an organization of human supremacists.
There isn't any internal conflict with the MC wanting to be kind but having to appear evil, the MC is just single-mindedly searching for revenge and feeling joy from it.
There isn't any deeper political motivations to any of the MC's actions either, he is just doing things for the sake of revenge and because he can. He already knows he can wipe the floor with the rest of the world, and only is pretending he can't to gloat.

Yeah, I can tell it's trying to be like Overlord, whether its intended or not. But this show doesn't make me feel the awe, or the excitement I felt when seeing Ainz's display of power.
The revenge on Garou felt very lack luster and boring. It dragged on for too long. I guess unlike Ainz, Light wants Garou to feel the despair, the regret, everything, so it makes sense he'd want to drag it as long as he wants, but even then the scene wasn't very thought out.
For one it painted Garou as an absolute dumb fuck when he should be at least more than that. He knew Mei was leagues ahead of him, but as soon as Light appears he forgets about Mei. He should have better instincts than that. We know he's better than that, that's how the anime explains how he got to the top. Knowing when a situation is good vs bad.
Then there was the scene where he showed Garou the power he rules. There is no awe for the viewer in seeing a low class villain lose his marbles to that. He should have no marbles to lose after what happened prior.
And why does Light think Garou's word for whether he can conquer the world has any weight behind it.
You could chalk this up to light just being a kid but ehh..
Still, this show is airing and there's no signs of a new Overlord season, so I'll be watching it.

me too, it was worth forcing myself through the first episode for her, i love retards so much

i liked the maids too, too bad they're all in a super kuso chuuni revenge anime, ep3's probably going to go back to being bad...

>>11936
i could swear it was komari's va basically doing the same voice archetype but she's not listed anywhere on mal...although the cast section looks incomplete and i dunno what is the awkward's maid name to see who's voicing her or if she's even listed...

>Komari
Oh yeah! That's exactly who I had in mind. Could there be two (or more?) VAs that sound like that?

 No.12340

yeah i think i gonna drop this
dumb knight didn't even appear in the last episode until the very end and it was basically just a cameo appearance

Levels are such a shit cop out. They're the worse way to break the "show not tell" rule of writing. You're not even just talking about some great feat they accomplished, you've boiled down your characters to just numbers. Not an ounce of suspense when fight scenes happen, you just know who's going to win because number big.
¥he's level 3000
¥even the MC's meido is 9999
That's the first thing that came to my mind when I heard this. Why would you decimate any chance of suspense when the MC does end up fighting the "White Knights".
They're not even showing the cute meido or the baka knight, or any of the other cute girls either. No one wants to watch onlookers with loose jaws gawking at a some midget, walking around with another midget talking about how great the previous midget is.
Just a waste of budget.
