Let's give this a try. The game's known for being hard and takes a while to learn but essentially it's a turn-based strategy game and something of an autobattler, you watch cool armies from all sorts of ancient lore fighting.

In the main menu you click tools & manuals or press g and then create a pretender, select early age. One nation per player. Different nations get different forms to choose from.
Once you choose a nation you can click on your god's icon to choose a different one (rmb shows info), press tab while on that screen for some more info like their magic paths and built-in scales (more on that later).
The screen is broken in 4 parts, from top to bottom:
Inanimates, these gods can't move (unless you unlock teleport and they can cast it), generally don't cost a lot and have some decent magic paths. I don't have a lot of experience with those but I think they basically sit in your capital researching/crafting/casting spells.
Titans, these need items if you want to fight with them, otherwise most of them will die pretty quick. Most of them become relevant mid to late game.
Beasts, early game expanders. These range from strong to very strong in combat (some are shit though), at least early versus independents. You're looking for high hp, high protection and maybe fear/regen/trample.
Mages, these are very cheap making it possible to turn them into rainbow mages (mages with a lot of paths). Easy to lose in combat but very useful for casting spells and site searching.
Next is magic, you need a certain amount in a path to cast spells. You can press s to see spells just to get a rough idea of what that looks like.
Bless is a buff that can be activated on any unit with a sacred tag by casting priest spells (I think your god always has the bless buff but I might be mistaken), you can make your whole strategy around those.
Next is dominion scales. Gonna take forever to go over all of them and I don't remember what all of them do exactly but you want no less than 4 dominion and preferably no misfortune.
Imprisonment is pretty self-explanatory, you can delay your gods entrance (if he's not very useful early on for example) to get some more points.
Important!
Remember to set a password, otherwise anyone can pick and play your nation.

Haven't played in a while so I might be missing on some fronts but here's how the turns go:
First your recruit. Select a province and press r, you'll need a fort(palisades) to recruit your nation units.
Cycle through commanders with n, give orders (space while having one selected for some more options other than move).
In any province you can hit t to config/script your armies, remember to hit the ? key there as well, game plays a lot better with hotkeys.
If you have mages (any commander with a magic path) you can move them to a province and hit space>site search to look for sites (or S), success depends on mage's paths. Once you have more mages you set of them to research by hitting R in any province with a lab.
E to end turn, that's the rough gist of it. In mp you can always load back and change your turn, unless you're the last one to submit.
I'd recommend to test your nations early expansion, you want it to go as smoothly as possible. You want to see what unit(s) you can spam to expand once a turn or so, more if you have an expander god.
Also important is building palisades asap and in proper locations. iirc you're looking for provinces with high pop. Forts soak up resources from connected provinces (which are used to recruit) so you want as little overlap as possible.
Win condition is capturing all thrones. If you have any questions feel free to ask, I'm far from a good player and haven't played in a while but I know the game to an extent.

Forgot to mention that the game has simultaneous turns. You do your turn at your own time and submit it, once everyone submits host puts out the next turn. Generally it's 1 turn a day or so, we'll have no time limit to begin with though.
Another way to play is blitz, when you can get everyone available for a few hours to play a game start to finish in one sitting.

As he is imprisoned it is going to be a long time before he'll come out and provide air shield or do anything with his high air magic. Since it's Caelum, you dont have much in the way of sacreds to put those blesses on since they're cap only plus a commander and whatever summons you might research later, so I'd drop air shield and much of your pretender's magic and focus on dominion scales. You can take or leave blesses for your cap units and summons, depends on if you want to focus on those or not. Dump your production a little and put that all into cold scales, you REALLY want 3 cold scales since a lot of your commanders have traits that scale with more cold, such as ice crafters. A little order can help too to counteract loss of income and you have the right idea of having high dominion since you depend so much on having a frozen hellscape to work with and fight over.
That's for MA Caelum and I dont want to waste what I wrote...
For EA Caelum you have a bit more in terms of sacreds so it's worth considering getting a nice bless. You can dip into turmoil or sloth since your troops are not as resource intensive as other nations and it give more points for a stronger bless. Bump up magic scales a bit so your casters become much stronger inside your dominion. As for their magic and blesses, you can get some pretty good ones if you go with glamour. Obfuscate is super nasty since you can make your sacreds stealthy, and since they can all fly it is a horrific experience to your enemies since you can raid with impunity. Displacement would also make them far harder to hit. Chill aura would also be incredible for your defensive temple guard as they are already pretty tough, and then become very tough in cold while also wearing down the enemies they fight.
Either way, you have a ton of flyers, make use of that mobility as they will get stomped by meeting a traditional army fair and square or on their terms. Be a disgusting little shit and run circles around them and take their lesser defended provinces.

So imagine you have two borders. You have your physical territory borders and then you have your dominion borders. Your dominion is your deity's influence and how many people worship them. Losing all your territory should be obvious, but if your dominion is extinguished then you also lose despite having a physical empire because your deity has no faith and fizzles out.
What those stats mean is how each province is influenced by your pretender god's dominion. A high dominion (the candle) is one that spreads hard and is incredibly difficult to remove, the scales are the effects it has on those provinces in your dominion, so for your case it is 1 order, 1 productivity, 3 cold, 1 growth and neutral luck and magic. Your dominion will then press the provinces under it to conform to those scales.
You'll also pick things up as you go, this game is VERY in the weeds on autism.
